The number 56 might be a symbol without a
meaning except for the decision of His Majesty
the late King Hussein Bin Talal in March 1956 in
coordination with the Jordanian Free Officers
Movement to Arabicize the leadership of the Arab
Legion and discharging the commander of the Arab
Legion, the British officer "Glubb Pasha" along
with all British officers, for the leadership of
the army to go to Jordanians who contributed,
over the years, to the development of the army
to be an impregnable fortress, and a source of
security and stability, along with the feeling
of power and pride.
In this beautiful house at Jabal Amman, lived
Sir John Bagot Glubb, known as "Glubb Pasha",
where it was, and still, one of Jabal Amman's
houses that carries within it the scent of
history and nostalgia to the past through the
distinct architecture, and its witnessing to the
development of Jordan over the years.
From here came the idea of restoring Glubb
Pasha's house to become "56 Cafe and
Restaurant"
to glorify the history of the Jordanian Army,
and be the best place to welcome you with a
Jordanian hospitality, and a continuous special
flavor. |
